Planning to wear kimono for your photoshoot in Japan? For most of you, this will be the first time wearing kimono and you might be wondering what kind of make-up will go well with kimono. Can it be the normal make-up you I everyday? Do I need to focus on certain things?

Here’s some tips to master a make-up to match your kimono!

Firm make-up than usual

When wearing dress, natural make won’t do it.

This is because compared to regular clothes, kimono tend to be more colorful or noisy pattern.

With too natural of a make-up, kimono can be more of an emphasis.

Firm make-up doesn’t mean you have to put on a flashy make-up but more neat make-up.

Don’t use too many colors!

It is best to pick a color theme to avoid mixing different colors.

Also, try to go for matte color and to stay away from perl or glossy make.

For skin color, choice of lighter color foundation will make kimono look more attractive.
