23 Apr Azalea blooming now in Nezu, Tokyo 2016
This time of the year, variety of flowers will be blooming around Japan and Tokyo is no exception. There are many places to recommend, one of which is Nezu. It is famous for is beautiful red and pink azaleas blooming in April and May.
Bring your camera along and you’ll be able to capture colorful azaleas for a trip photo.
Nezu Shrine Azalea (Tustuji) Festival

Festival period: April 9 through May 5
Time: 9:00 – 17:30 every day
Admission: 200 yen
There will be over 300 azaleas during this festival and because there are 100 different kinds, you can see red and pink azaleas.
Walk around the shrine and you can also enjoy the sweet smell of azaleas.
Beautiful and spiritual red thousand torii (an archway to the shrine) are surrounded by the colorful azaleas.
Fushimi inari in Kyoto is famous for its thousands torii but we have it here in Nezu shrine as well.
As you walk through the torii from North to South, it is said to send away any bad luck. Why not enjoy the beautiful azaleas while raising your fortune!
